Tiger Gold Leaps into Colombia's Booming Gold Scene
Colombia is experiencing a resurgence in gold exploration and development, driven by the country's rich geology and its most mining-friendly government in a generation. The majors are already positioning themselves, with AngloGold Ashanti, B2Gold, Zijin Mining, and Agnico Eagle all holding Colombian gold exposure.
Tiger Gold Corp., a Vancouver-based gold exploration and development company, is emerging as one of the country's next major players. With more than two million ounces of current resources, a preliminary economic assessment that shows a US$1.2-billion net present value at a US$3,700 gold price, and drilling aimed at growing resources from two million ounces to four million ounces over the next year, Tiger Gold is poised for significant growth.
The company's Quinchía Gold Project in the Mid-Cauca belt hosts multiple deposits, including Miraflores, Tesorito, Dos Quebradas, and Ceibal. The project's structure allows for a central processing hub to feed multiple deposits, reducing capital and operating costs. With drilling underway, Tiger Gold is targeting a maiden resource estimate at Ceibal, which could double the company's current resources.
