Titas Gas Warns of Severe Low Pressure Amid LNG Supply Disruption

Titas Gas has issued a warning to its customers regarding severe low gas pressure across its franchise areas due to a significant drop in liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply. The company stated that gas supply from the Moheshkhali LNG terminals had fallen by around 450 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) due to a technical fault.

The incident occurred on July 21, causing extensive damage to multiple cable systems essential for operating the terminal. As a result, around 500-600 mmcfd of regasification capacity was knocked out, significantly reducing gas supply to the national grid.

Total gas supply fell to 2,151.7 mmcfd on 25-26 July, against an official demand of 3,854 mmcfd. Of this total supply, only 501.1 mmcfd came from imported LNG.
