Titas Gas Warns of Severe Low Pressure as LNG Supply Drops by 450 mmcfd

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC has warned its customers of severe low gas pressure across its franchise areas due to a technical fault at the Moheshkhali LNG terminal.

The incident, which occurred on July 21, knocked out around 500-600 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of regasification capacity, significantly reducing gas supply to the national grid.

As a result, the total gas supply has fallen far below demand. According to Petrobangla data, total gas supply dropped to 2,151.7 mmcfd on July 25-26, against an official demand of 3,854 mmcfd.

The company's statement said that 'severe low gas pressure will persist for all categories of customers under the Titas Gas distribution network until the situation improves.'
