Top Glove Sees Improved Earnings as Global Glove Demand and Prices Strengthen
Top Glove Corporation Bhd is expected to deliver improved earnings for FY2026 due to sustained global glove demand and higher average selling prices. The company's executive chairman, Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, attributed this growth to an annual expansion of about 10% in global glove demand, while supply constraints have also contributed to rising prices.
Lim noted that when demand exceeds supply, prices tend to increase. He added that some factories may be affected by production issues, but demand remains strong. The improved demand-supply dynamics are expected to result in better performance for Top Glove compared to the previous financial year.
The company's net profit jumped to RM80.98 million in 3Q2026 from RM34.74 million in the same quarter last year, while revenue rose to RM1.09 billion from RM830.25 million previously. Lim emphasized that stronger demand and higher selling prices are key factors supporting the improved outlook.
He also mentioned that geopolitical conflicts or pandemics can lead customers to increase orders as a precaution, further supporting glove demand and prices. However, rising crude oil prices may increase the cost of petroleum-based raw materials used in glove production, potentially impacting profitability.
