TotalEnergies and AMNI have announced a final investment decision to develop the offshore Ima gas field in Nigeria. The project is expected to supply gas to Nigeria LNG's liquefaction plant, located near Bonny Island.

The extracted gas will be used to fuel approximately one third of the needs of Nigeria LNG's Train 7 extension. TotalEnergies holds a 40% interest in the Ima gas development, alongside AMNI, which has a majority stake of 60%. The field is located on licenses OML 112 and OML 117.

The facility will be connected to the plant via a platform installed in shallow water and a 22-kilometer pipeline. TotalEnergies plans for continuous methane monitoring and no flaring, with power supplied from shore. Production start-up is planned for 2028, with an expected plateau rate of 350 million cubic feet of gas per day.
