TotalEnergies has partnered with Eni to develop Cyprus' first gas project, Cronos, which will supply Europe's growing demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The Cronos field is located approximately 185 kilometers southwest of Cyprus in deepwater and will be developed through four subsea wells. Gas from the field will be piped to Egypt's existing Damietta LNG terminal, where it can be exported to European markets.

Production at Cronos is expected to begin in 2028, with a plateau output of around 500 million cubic feet per day. This translates to approximately 2.8 million tonnes of LNG annually, with half of this supply being marketed by TotalEnergies.
