Treasury Buyback to Support Dollar, Weigh on Stocks and Gold

The US Treasury has announced that it will purchase up to $6 billion in 10-20 year Treasuries on Thursday as part of a liquidity support buyback operation.

This move is expected to support the dollar and weigh on stocks and spot gold, with yields rising in response. The Treasury had previously indicated that it would conduct at least $4 billion in long-dated buyback operations.

The decision comes as Coca-Cola's CEO says global consumer conditions remain uneven and have not changed significantly in recent months.
