Trump Announces $200 Billion Korea Investment in Alaska LNG Project
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed South Korea's participation in the Alaska LNG project on November 30, calling it 'one of the largest energy infrastructure investments in American history.'
The agreement between the U.S. and South Korea includes an investment plan worth up to $200 billion, with $120 billion going towards building eight large-scale nuclear power plants across the United States.
Trump stated that this project will 'solidify our position as the world's leading nuclear power nation' and create 12,000 construction jobs and over 1,000 operating jobs in Alaska alone.
The U.S. President also announced a $22 billion investment in a gas-fired combined-cycle power plant in Texas and highlighted the importance of this partnership in securing critical energy supply chains.
