Trump Announces Severe Economic Operation Against Iran, Warns of Consequences
US President Donald Trump has announced a severe economic operation against Iran, calling it an unprecedented scale of economic conflict and isolation. The measures are aimed at countries that allow financial aid to Iran, with those found guilty facing 'tremendous economic consequences'.
In a statement on Truth Social, Trump warned that any country providing assistance to Iran would face severe repercussions, including oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, and front companies. He also mentioned that the situation is currently 'so good', suggesting that Washington might return to negotiations with Iran in the future.
The announcement comes after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) suspended all trade with Tehran following a ballistic missile attack on its territory. Iran denied firing the missiles.
