Trump Asserts Historic Impact on Alaska Amid LNG Project Tensions
U.S. President Donald Trump has made a bold claim about his contributions to Alaska, stating that he has brought more to the state than anyone in human history.
In a social media post on October 3, Trump wrote that Alaska is 'a very special place' to him and that he has won the state every time he ran for office.
He repeated his claim that he has brought more to Alaska than any other person in history, saying 'nothing and no one comes even close to my record.'
This statement comes amidst Trump's recent announcement of a $200 billion energy sector investment project in the U.S. by South Korea, which includes a proposed $50 billion investment in the Alaska liquefied natural gas (LNG) development project.
The South Korean government has denied making any such investment decision, prompting Trump to say 'if they don't want to do it, that's fine with me' and threatening to double the price if an agreement is not reached soon.
