Trump also mentioned that Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi fighters have asked Washington not to intervene in their conflict with Saudi Arabia. The Houthis have been attacking Saudi shipping on the Red Sea and have seized control of the Bab al-Mandab Strait, a crucial waterway for oil exports.
