Trump Credits Xi for Stabilizing Oil Prices
Oil prices remain high due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East, but they could be much worse. When President Donald Trump launched his military campaign against Iran in February, energy analysts predicted that oil prices could more than double during a prolonged conflict.
However, six months into the war, oil prices have not reached those dire levels. In fact, some experts attribute this to China's energy strategy, which may be a topic of discussion between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping during Jinping's upcoming visit to Washington.
