Trump Names Clayton to Lead Federal AI Task Force as OPEC+ Holds Oil Production Steady
President Donald Trump has named Jay Clayton, his director of national intelligence, to lead a new federal task force focused on artificial intelligence (AI). The initiative, dubbed the “Super Intelligence Force,” aligns with Trump's recent efforts to rebrand AI as “super intelligence.” The announcement follows a White House meeting with top AI executives, who reportedly agreed to a voluntary accord for self-regulation of the technology.
The task force aims to coordinate federal efforts to maintain U.S. leadership in AI, which Trump described as a transformative force comparable to the Industrial Revolution and the Internet. The group will engage with consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, critical infrastructure providers, and AI companies to advance its goals.
