Trump Posts AI-Generated Video of Kharg Island Destruction

US President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated video on his Truth Social platform showing the destruction of Iran's Kharg Island, stating that it is 'being blown to smithereens'.

The video comes after US forces struck two Iranian launchers on Larak Island earlier Sunday, marking the first US strikes on Iranian territory since late July. The operation targeted systems allegedly being prepared to launch rockets carrying sea mines into the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said several fighters and civilians were killed or injured in the strike and vowed to respond. Preliminary information indicates that the attack was carried out by drones, according to Iran's Tasnim news agency.

Kharg Island is a vital center for Iran's oil industry and exports, with all three loading berths remaining vacant since July 31. The island normally handles nearly 90% of Iran's crude exports due to its deep-water access for large oil tankers.
