US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the US has no talks planned with Iran. However, he emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz remains 'open and operating', despite limited traffic and a reported strike on a ship exiting the waterway.

Talks between Iran and Oman are ongoing to manage shipping traffic through the strait. Trump threatened to bomb Oman if it gets in the way, according to two regional officials. Iran says the waterway will not be reopened until the US meets its conditions.

A projectile hit a ship in the strait near Oman, causing a crew casualty, and an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia was targeted by drones claimed by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
