Trump Rejects Iran's Plan to Reopen Hormuz Strait

A new plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz has been proposed by Iran, but it appears that US President Donald Trump has rejected the proposal. The waterway is a key route for global oil supply and has been central to the conflict between the two countries.

The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said that a seven-day plan had been conveyed to the US through Qatar. If certain conditions are met, the strait can be reopened within seven days, with normal maritime passage restored.

Araghchi stressed that Iran does not accept coercion or intimidation and will not surrender its sovereign rights under pressure.
