Trump Rejects Iran's Proposal to Open Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump has rejected an Iranian proposal to end hostilities in the Middle East and open the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil trade.

The initiative, presented by Tehran during the UN General Assembly in New York, aimed to restore shipping through the strait within seven days and halt hostilities in the region, including in Lebanon.

According to Reuters, the Iranian plan called for lifting the American naval blockade of Iranian ports, unblocking Tehran's frozen assets, and easing sanctions on Iranian oil exports in exchange for opening the Strait of Hormuz and ending hostilities.

Trump stated that he rejected 'their proposal. I rejected their deal,' adding that the proposed terms were unacceptable for the United States.
