Trump Rejects Iran's Seven-Day Plan for Strait of Hormuz Reopening

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has revealed that the country's latest proposal to end hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz is similar to a memorandum of understanding signed with the US in June. The proposal, which includes an end to hostilities, the release of $12 billion in frozen assets, and the lifting of sanctions on Iranian oil, has been conveyed through mediators as diplomatic efforts continue.

However, reports suggest that US President Donald Trump has rejected the seven-day plan, which would see the Strait of Hormuz reopened and normal maritime passage restored within a week. The proposal is also linked to the resumption of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US.
