Trump Sees Quick Victory in Iran Conflict, Predicts Petrol Price Plunge
US President Donald Trump predicted that the United States would win its seven-month war with Iran 'very soon', saying 'it's going to go pretty quickly'. The conflict has shaken global markets, disrupting oil shipments and restricting waterways. Thousands of people have been killed during the fighting.
Trump also forecast a sharp decline in petrol prices following a US victory. He made these comments while discussing the ongoing negotiations between the two countries, with officials from both sides holding separate discussions with mediators about ending the conflict.
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tehran expected Washington's response to its latest ceasefire proposals and conditions for restoring shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's seven-day plan calls for an end to all hostilities in Iran and Lebanon, the unfreezing of Iranian assets worth billions of dollars, and the removal of sanctions on Iranian oil.
