Trump Tackles Soaring Gas Prices in Meeting with Oil Executives

President Donald Trump is meeting with oil industry executives at the White House to discuss ways to bring down rising gas prices, which have reached a national average of $4.10 per gallon. The meeting comes amid concerns over uncertainty in the Middle East and the possibility of renewed U.S. military action against Iran.

The focus of the meeting is on increasing refinery capacity and reducing the cost passed along to drivers. Trump has previously stated that he believes oil companies are profiteering from high gas prices, saying 'You're making too much money, okay? Based on a shortage, they're making too much money. I don't like it.'

Trump is also pursuing a new deal with Venezuela, which could open up a major new oil market that relies heavily on U.S. processing.
