Trump Touts $8.4 Billion Oil Project in US-South Korea Trade Deal
US President Donald Trump announced that an $8.4 billion project to increase oil production has been included in a trade agreement between Washington and Seoul. The project aims to boost global energy security by strengthening the US energy sector.
According to Trump, this move will contribute to increased oil and gas production, which is expected to benefit both the US and the global community.
South Korean officials had previously stated that they were considering investing $200 billion in the US, including projects involving nuclear power generation facilities, liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Alaska, and electricity production in Texas. However, it was noted that South Korea's participation in a proposed $54 billion Alaska LNG project has not yet been finalized.
Trump highlighted the importance of this trade deal, emphasizing its potential to create jobs and stimulate economic growth for both countries.
