President Donald Trump has revealed he faces a crucial decision regarding the conflict with Iran. He must decide whether to launch a massive new military campaign to end the ongoing crisis or hold back in pursuit of an elusive diplomatic agreement.
'I have a big decision coming up,' Trump said in an interview with Axios. 'Do I want to go in and annihilate them or do I not?' he asked, acknowledging that anything could happen with him making the final call.
The president added that Washington has kept pressure high through an aggressive naval blockade, boasting that Iranian oil exports have been completely shut down. At the same time, Trump signaled that Tehran has been reaching out behind closed doors, suggesting Iranian officials are eager to negotiate a way out of the standoff.
