Trump-Xi Meeting Fuels Soybean Price Hike Ahead of Key Talks
Soybean futures are on the rise as traders anticipate a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping scheduled for this Thursday.
The meeting is significant because China is the world's largest soybean importer, and any agreements reached could impact prices. US Treasury Chief Scott Bessent had productive talks with Chinese officials over the weekend on trade matters.
Soybean futures have increased by 23-1/2 cents to $13.27 a bushel as of 12:30 p.m. CDT, while other agricultural products like corn and wheat are also seeing gains.
