Iranian officials have dismissed a video posted by US President Donald Trump that appeared to show an attack on Kharg Island, a key energy hub in the country. The video was generated using AI software and showed dramatic explosions.

Hamid Bovard, chief executive of the National Iranian Oil Co., said conditions at Kharg were calm and normal, with oil operations continuing uninterrupted. He added that workers were busy repairing previous damage and modernizing facilities.

The US had launched airstrikes on Iran's island of Larak earlier in the day, which was responded to by Iran with attacks on two US bases in Jordan and an air base in the UAE.
