Oil prices dipped below $100 per barrel after US President Donald Trump announced 'very good' talks between US and Iranian representatives at the United Nations.

The three-hour meeting was reportedly productive, with Trump stating that another session is scheduled in the near future.

Analysts believe the diplomatic efforts may ease some of the escalation pressure driving oil prices higher. Stephen Innes from Quintex Intel noted that the market has shifted towards a genuine diplomatic process, although a final deal still seems distant.
