Trump's Iran Campaign Hits Zero Oil Revenue
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent detailed President Donald Trump's campaign to isolate Iran economically. The administration has moved from military action and a blockade to Operation Economic Outcast, targeting Iran's financial connections.
Bessent said the campaign has progressed through a sequence of military and economic pressure, culminating in Operation Economic Outcast. He added that the administration was now isolating Tehran economically 'like it's never happened before.'
In an interview on 'The Axios Show', Bessent stated that Iran will have no oil revenue this week, saying 'You know, right now the score turns of barrels out of the Strait, US about 1.1 billion, Iran zero.'
Operation Economic Outcast targets Iran's financial ties by imposing secondary sanctions on countries, companies, and entities that do business with Tehran. Bessent said the effort is an 'economic onslaught against Iran's financial connections around the globe.'
