According to CNN, Brent crude rose by 5.8% to $86.82 per barrel, while US crude jumped 6.4% to $84.30 per barrel.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump vowed to 'beat them to a pulp' and promised that the US would hit Iran hard if necessary.

He also stated that the US coordinated with Iraqi forces before conducting a joint attack on Iranian-backed Shiite militias in Iraq, calling them a 'cancer on the world.'
