Oil prices surged on Thursday after a media report said the U.S. was sending more troops to the Middle East and President Donald Trump expected to resume bombing Iran in November.

The front-month Brent contract rose about 14% in September, its biggest monthly increase since July, while WTI gained around 5%

A proposed deal between the U.S. and Iran, which included access for nuclear inspectors in exchange for sanctions relief, has raised hopes of a diplomatic breakthrough.
