TSX Futures Rise Amid Oil Price Decline
Futures linked to Canada's main stock index, the TSX, rose on Monday due to an extended fall in oil prices. The drop in oil prices triggered a global bond rally and optimism around artificial intelligence demand.
Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem is scheduled to speak later today, with traders pricing in about a 60% chance of an interest rate hike at its next meeting in October.
The TSX futures contract had risen by 13 points, or 0.6%, while U.S. stock index futures climbed, with the Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq 100 all gaining.
