TSX Futures Rise as Oil Prices Fall Amid Global Bond Rally
TSX futures rose on Monday as an extended decline in oil prices fueled a global bond rally and optimism surrounding artificial intelligence demand.
The Bank of Canada's Governor, Tiff Macklem, is set to speak later today, with traders pricing in around a 60% chance of an interest rate hike at its next meeting in October. The Federal Reserve, Bank of Japan, and European Central Bank have all lifted borrowing costs this month.
Oil prices dropped despite the prospect of continued supply disruptions due to the conflict in Yemen. Data from shipping analytics firm Kpler showed that Saudi oil exports had bounced back to over 4 million barrels per day so far in September, up from a 2.4 million bpd in August.
