TSX Futures Slide as Gold Retreats Amid Bond Market Jitters
The TSX Composite Index futures slipped on Thursday as gold prices retreated and investors remained cautious about bond markets.
The September S&P/TSX futures fell by around 0.4% after the index bounced back the previous day, with commodities exhibiting mixed behavior.
Gold declined as traders took profits following a recent surge to a more than two-month high, triggered by a US Treasury move aimed at supporting liquidity in longer-term government bonds.
Oil prices, however, remained firm near recent highs as investors weighed the risk of supply disruptions tied to tensions surrounding Iran.
