Turkey Aims to Broker New Grain Deal Between Russia and Ukraine

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that his country is working to broker a new agreement between Russia and Ukraine on grain exports via the Black Sea.

The current agreement, which was in place since the war began in 2022, expired in 2023.

Fidan emphasized the importance of this agreement, citing concerns about global food security as Ukraine and Russia are among the world's leading wheat exporters.

He warned that attacks on ships in the Black Sea posed a threat not only to security but also to global food supplies, particularly in African countries.
