Turkey Proposes New Plan to Restore Black Sea Grain Exports

Turkey has proposed a new plan to restore safe transportation of grain and other agricultural products through the Black Sea, which could benefit both Ukraine and Russia.

The Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Ankara has prepared specific proposals to ensure navigation safety and is discussing them with Kyiv and Moscow.

The initiative aims to create a mechanism similar to the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which operated in 2022-2023 and allowed for nearly 33 million tonnes of grain and other food products to be shipped from Ukrainian ports.

The proposal has not been made public yet, but it's unclear whether it will provide separate safe maritime routes, cover specific Ukrainian ports, or involve the United Nations.
