Turkey's Natural Gas Demand Soars by 80% on Saturday

Turkey's spot natural gas market saw significant activity on Saturday, September 5. The trade volume increased by 80% to around 9.9 million Turkish liras compared to Friday's amount of about 5.5 million liras, according to the Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data. This increase in trade volume highlights the growing demand for natural gas in the country.

The price of 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas on the spot market cost 17,243.73 Turkish liras on Saturday. The cumulative natural gas trade volume reached around 576,000 cubic meters during this period. In contrast, Turkey received about 87.46 million cubic meters of gas on the same day.
