Turkish Grain Board Lifting Wheat Export Ban After 16-Month Suspension
Turkey has lifted its 16-month suspension on bread wheat and cracked wheat exports, allowing shipments to resume as of July 29. The decision was made by the Turkish Grain Board (TMO), which cited sufficient domestic production and stocks to ensure food supply security.
The TMO stated that an assessment of domestic production, existing stocks, and consumption needs showed that supply security is at an adequate level. Exports will be conducted in a 'controlled and balanced manner,' with applications submitted through the Central Anatolian Exporters Associations being reviewed by the TMO based on domestic supply conditions.
Bread wheat and cracked wheat remain among goods subject to export registration, meaning shipments require official review rather than automatic approval.
