Turkish Natural Gas Market Sees 13.5% Trade Volume Surge
The natural gas market in Turkey experienced a significant increase in trade volume on Sunday, July 26. According to data from the Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST), the total trade on Saturday was around 10.3 million Turkish liras, but jumped by 13.5% to approximately 11.69 million liras on Sunday.
The price of natural gas on the spot market remained steady at 17,641.62 Turkish liras per 1,000 cubic meters. The cumulative trade volume for natural gas was around 663,000 cubic meters.
Turkey received about 83.55 million cubic meters of gas on Sunday. The current exchange rate is US$1 equals 47.35 Turkish liras at 2 p.m. local time (1100 GMT) on Monday.
