Turkish Spot Natural Gas Trade Volume Drops 59.7% in One Day

Türkiye's spot natural gas market experienced a significant decrease in trade volume on Friday. According to data from Türkiye's Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST), the total trade on Thursday was about 7.7 million liras, but it dropped to around 3.1 million liras on Friday, representing a 59.7% decline. This is a notable drop in just one day.

The price of natural gas on the spot market remained steady at 18,660 Turkish liras for every 1,000 cubic meters. Meanwhile, the cumulative natural gas trade volume was around 166,000 cubic meters. The country received approximately 101.18 million cubic meters of natural gas on Friday.

The current exchange rate is US$1 equals 49.13 liras at 2 p.m. local time (1100 GMT) on Saturday.
