UK Natgas Prices Tumble Amid Middle East Diplomacy Hopes

UK natural gas prices plummeted to 193 pence per therm on Monday after surging in the previous session, as traders monitor diplomatic efforts to end the Middle East conflict.

President Donald Trump stated that he would probably be open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who is expected to attend the UN General Assembly later this week. However, Tehran has yet to respond to these remarks.

The ongoing conflict continues to restrict LNG shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, elevating supply risks and concerns over prolonged disruptions.

European gas storage facilities were around 68.5% full, still below the seasonal average. The situation is further complicated by intense competition for LNG with Asia and ongoing maintenance work on Norway’s gas infrastructure.
