UK Wheat Futures Rise £2.00 per Ton as Global Production Estimate Drops
The latest AHDB arable market assessment shows grain futures moved higher last week, driven by the Pro Farmer crop tour in the US. The tour indicated maize yield potential came in below expectations.
UK feed wheat futures for November 2026 settlement climbed £2.00 per tonne (1.0%) week-on-week, closing Friday at £205.00 per tonne. This is roughly £1.00 per tonne above the equivalent Paris milling wheat contract in sterling terms on the same day.
The International Grains Council (IGC) lowered its 2026/27 world wheat production estimate by 4.3 million tonnes last week, bringing it to 816.7 million tonnes. The revision partly reflects weaker prospects in Europe, including the UK, due to persistent summer heat.
