Ukraine Agrees to Trilateral Talks with US and Russia
Ukraine has expressed its willingness to participate in a trilateral technical-level meeting with the United States and Russia. The potential meeting, which could take place in the United Arab Emirates or another country chosen by the U.S., was discussed during a press conference between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Kyiv.
Zelenskyy mentioned that he had spoken with the U.S. negotiating team on October 3 and confirmed Ukraine’s readiness to support the proposal. The U.S. is currently awaiting Russia’s response after conveying a similar proposal to Moscow.
Earlier reports from Bloomberg suggested that Turkey and the United Nations are working to organize new negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. The goal of these discussions is to establish a ceasefire in the Black Sea and resume grain exports, although Russia has reportedly rejected any proposals for a grain truce.
