Ukraine Barley Exports Struggle Amid Low Demand

The Ukraine barley market is struggling due to low demand for exports, which has led to falling prices. Exporters are currently offering feed barley at a price of $140-150/t with delivery to Danube ports, but this may increase in the near future as prices for wheat and corn rise.

Ukraine's export figures for barley are significantly lower than last year, with only 61 thousand tons exported in August compared to 247 thousand tons in August 2025. For the season so far, Ukraine has exported 360 thousand tons of barley, down from 504 thousand tons at the same time last year.

Processors are buying feed barley at a price of 5,500-6,500 UAH/t with delivery, while some farmers are willing to sell it for 6,000 UAH/t ex-farm. Malt mills have started buying spring malting barley at UAH 8,000/t, but prices have fallen over the past 10 days due to large supply and lack of free space.
