Corn prices in Ukraine have dropped by UAH 100-500 per ton over the past week, reaching UAH 5.5-6 thousand per ton EXW in central and eastern regions.

The demand for corn remains strong in western Ukraine, where traders are offering September delivery bids at UAH 7-7.5 thousand per ton FCA due to existing supply contracts with EU buyers.

The new crop harvest is just beginning, with only 1% of the planted area having been harvested as of September 21, producing 339.8 thousand tons at an average yield of 5 t/ha, compared to 4.31 t/ha last year.

Logistics costs are adding pressure to the domestic market, with railcar waiting times extended to 2-4 weeks at Ukraine's western borders and rail freight from central regions to the border rising to UAH 2.2-2.7 thousand per ton.
