Ukraine Drone Attacks Halt Black Sea Grain Shipments
The conflict between Ukraine and Russia has taken a toll on global wheat markets. Drone attacks by Ukraine have reduced prospects for a peaceful resolution, which in turn has halted Black Sea grain shipments.
Russia's largest wheat exporter has eliminated export duties on grain through the end of 2026, according to state news agency RIA.
The recent drone attack on Moscow region killed three people and damaged an oil refinery. Russian companies have begun converting fertilizer, coal, and other cargo terminals at Baltic and Arctic ports to handle grain exports.
