Ukraine Drones Strike Russian Grain Terminals Amid Escalating Maritime Conflict

Ukraine's military has escalated its drone strikes on key Russian maritime infrastructure in the Black Sea, targeting grain terminals and naval bases.

The overnight attack damaged three grain terminals at Novorossiysk, Russia's primary Black Sea port. The loading gallery at United Grain Co.'s Novorossiysk Grain Plant crashed to the ground, while the gallery and truck unloading facility at Demetra-owned Novorossiysk Grain Terminal were also damaged.

Russia and Ukraine account for over a quarter of global wheat exports, and the attacks have sent wheat prices soaring to a two-year high in July. The strikes come as farmers are in the middle of this year's harvest.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that 'the occupation fleet and all the infrastructure supporting it will not be safe as long as Russian aggression continues.' He emphasized that the war must be stopped, and all reasonable proposals for diplomacy are on the table.
