Ukraine Feed Wheat Export Prices Surge Amid Geopolitical Tensions
Export prices for feed wheat are on the rise in Ukraine, particularly in the Danube ports. According to APK-Inform, reported by agronews.ua, demand prices have increased due to a complex of geopolitical, operational, and logistical factors.
The escalation of military-political tension in the Black Sea region has pushed up world grain exchange quotations as risks of supply disruptions and growth in neighboring markets increase. The shelling of port infrastructure also contributes to these higher prices.
Additionally, urgent uncovered commitments of traders for vessel batches force buyers to compete for available volumes, further driving up prices. As a result, exporters are including an additional price premium to stimulate sales from farmers.
Purchasing prices for feed wheat in the Danube ports have increased by 3-5 USD/ton and as of September 24 are announced in the range of 150-160 USD/ton CPT-port.
