Ukraine Fuel Prices Soar Amid Stable Supply Conditions
Ukraine's fuel market is experiencing an unusual phenomenon: prices are rising despite stable supply conditions. According to Serhiy Kuyn, director of Consulting Group A-95, there is no shortage of fuel in Ukraine, but high prices at gas stations persist.
The country does not refine its own oil; instead, it imports finished petroleum products, which have not decreased in price despite the drop in crude oil prices. This has led to a situation where traders are hesitant to form significant fuel reserves due to logistical difficulties and increased demand from industrial consumers and the agricultural sector.
Additional pressure on prices is being exerted by the agricultural sector's shift to land export routes due to Russia's blockade of ports. The government is considering creating underground fuel storage facilities to provide greater security and stability to the market, which has been affected by attacks on gas stations by Russian forces.
