Ukraine Grain Exports Collapse Amid Russia's Attacks
The European Union's Ambassador to the Pacific, Barbara Plinkert, warns that Russia's attacks on Ukraine's ports and shipping will drive up global food prices well into 2027.
Ukraine's grain exports have been cut in half due to missile and drone strikes during the harvest season. An estimated nine million tonnes of grain could rot by November because storage has been destroyed.
The Ambassador stated that Russia is blocking Ukraine's agricultural exports across the Black Sea, the Danube River, and overland corridors, using food as a weapon against vulnerable people worldwide.
