Ukraine Harvests Over 32 Million Tons of Grain Amid Ongoing Late-Season Crops

The Ukrainian harvest season is in full swing, with farmers having gathered over 32.4 million tons of grain and leguminous crops as of September 15. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, a total of 6.892 million hectares, or 59% of the projected area, have been harvested, resulting in an average yield of 4.7 tonnes per hectare.

The main early grain crops have already been harvested, with wheat being gathered from the entire planned area of 5.043 million hectares, yielding 24.926 million tons at an average rate of 4.94 tonnes per hectare. Barley was harvested from 1.476 million hectares, producing 6.405 million tons at a yield of 4.34 tonnes per hectare.

Regions with the highest grain yields include Khmelnytskyi region, which recorded an average yield of 7.07 tonnes per hectare, followed by Sumy and Vinnytsia regions. The top three regions in terms of total harvest are Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad.

Additionally, the harvest of late-season crops continues, with farmers having gathered 167,670 tons of corn from 35,000 hectares at an average yield of 4.82 tonnes per hectare. Sunflower, soybeans, millet, and buckwheat have also been harvested in smaller quantities.
