Ukraine's agricultural sector is bracing for a decline in winter crop area due to ongoing logistics complications. According to Taras Vysotskyi, Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, the winter crop area may decrease by around 15% on average.

The minister noted that rapeseed sowing has already been completed, with a slight decrease of 5-7% expected. Winter wheat areas could see a decline of up to 17%, while overall winter crop areas will still be down by approximately 15%.

Vysotskyi emphasized that the remaining winter grain crops are less resource-intensive compared to rapeseed, which explains why the reduction remains within the announced range. The minister refused to comment on the spring sowing campaign, stating it's too early to provide any estimates, with first objective preliminary forecasts expected in December and more realistic ones in February.
