Ukraine Railway Hopes for 4.5M Tonnes Grain Export Capacity via Moldova
Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state-owned railway company, has estimated its potential throughput capacity for grain exports via Moldova at 4.5 million tonnes per year.
This estimate is based on the assumption that the handling capacity of border stations will be expanded, control procedures optimized, technological constraints eliminated, and train traffic organization improved.
The company believes that implementing these measures would allow it to use the corridor's potential more efficiently and ensure stable transportation in case of increased demand for the route.
However, Ukrzaliznytsia currently cannot offer additional discounts on domestic tariffs due to concerns about its financial position.
